Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and BuildMyTVApp. They apply to visitors, customers, and viewers of television programming we publish.

Additional terms may apply to a paid subscription. If there is a conflict, the subscription terms control for that paid service.

BuildMyTVApp provides a website and tools that help organizations prepare branded television apps. Customers keep their own developer accounts and remain the publishers of their own channels. We do not take ownership of a customer’s channel, and we do not promise that any store will approve a submission.

Separately, BuildMyTVApp may publish its own television apps and channels under the BuildMyTVApp name. That programming is ours. It is not a customer church, ministry, or media channel.

All programs, artwork, titles, descriptions, and related materials in television apps or channels published by BuildMyTVApp are copyrighted by BuildMyTVApp, or used only under rights we hold. We do not publish that catalog for children.

You may watch that programming for your personal, non-commercial use through the official app or channel. You may not copy, download for redistribution, record for public showing, re-upload, scrape, or republish it, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission.

We do not claim copyright in a customer’s channel content. Customers remain responsible for the rights in everything they publish.

Television apps and channels published by BuildMyTVApp are not kids’ apps and are not directed at children. The catalog is general-audience programming and is not intended for anyone under 13.

Parents and guardians should decide whether the programming is appropriate for their household. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through those apps.

The website, tools, names, logos, documentation, and BuildMyTVApp-published television content are owned by BuildMyTVApp or our licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.

You may not use our name or marks in a way that suggests we publish, endorse, or operate a customer’s channel unless we have agreed to that in writing.

Customer accounts are provisioned for an organization. You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details confidential, and tell us if you believe an account has been misused.

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or that presents a security, legal, or billing risk.

If you use our tools for your own channel, you are the publisher of that channel. You are responsible for the accuracy of listing information, for the rights in your content, for how you classify children’s content, and for the privacy and terms pages you provide to viewers and stores.

You must have the legal right to distribute the content you add, including music, footage, artwork, and trademarks. You must use your own developer accounts for store submission unless we have a separate written arrangement.

These company pages are BuildMyTVApp’s privacy and terms pages. They are not your channel’s legal pages. Do not present them as the policy for a channel you publish unless that channel is published by BuildMyTVApp.

You may not misuse the website or tools. That includes attempting to break security, interfere with other customers, upload unlawful or infringing material, send abusive or deceptive communications, or use the service to harm children.

You may not reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it, and you may not resell access without our written permission.

Paid plans are billed in advance through a payment processor. Prices and included features are described on the pricing page or in your order. Taxes may apply.

Failed payment may suspend access to paid features. Canceling a subscription stops future charges according to the billing terms in effect. Cancellation does not by itself delete your stored data.

You may stop using the website or cancel a paid plan at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or if we must do so for legal or security reasons.

If we discontinue a television app we publish, we will stop offering that app through the relevant store when practical. We are not obligated to keep every title available forever.

The website, tools, and television apps we publish are provided “as is” and “as available.” BuildMyTVApp does not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free playback, or approval by any television platform or app store.

We do not warrant that customer content, or any third-party platform, will remain available or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuildMyTVApp is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising from the website, the tools, or television apps we publish.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim, or twenty-five U.S. dollars if you have not paid us.

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

If you are a customer, you will defend and indemnify BuildMyTVApp against claims that arise from your channel, your content, your store listings, or your misuse of the service, including claims that you lacked the rights to publish material or that your channel was directed at children in a way that violated applicable law.

Roku is a trademark of Roku, Inc. Fire TV is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. Android TV, Google TV, and Apple TV are trademarks of their respective owners.

BuildMyTVApp is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roku, Amazon, Google, or Apple.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts of competent jurisdiction will hear disputes, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
